Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Osman, Aswan University president, stated that a team from Aswan University, including Dr. Shazly Baghdadi, Project Coordinator and Professor of Chest Diseases, Allergies, and Immunological Diseases at Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Abdallah Al-Ebaidi, Head of the Biochemistry Department and team member, participated in a workshop to prepare the Climate Change and Immunological Diseases Diploma in collaboration with 5 Egyptian universities: Al-Azhar University, Cairo University, Ain Shams University, Damietta University, and Aswan University.
Additionally, Prof. Mohamed Abd El-Aziz Mehalal, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research at Aswan University, added that the project involves 3 universities from the European Union—(France, Germany, and Greece). The outcomes of this project include developing the curriculum for the diploma in cooperation with the participating universities to grant graduates an Immunology Diploma certificate. Furthermore, preparations are underway for a specialized laboratory for research and studies in immunology, as well as fostering communication with experts and professors from both Egyptian and European universities involved in the project.
Dr. Shazly Baghdadi further explained that the participation extended over 5 days in the city of Metz, France, where the Vice President of the University of Lorraine also attended the workshop. The workshop commenced from September 23 to 29, 2022. The delegation from Aswan University was also received by the Mayor of Metz during their visit.
This collaboration is part of a cooperation protocol between Aswan University and the participating universities, signed since 2020 and ending in 2023. The protocol spans 3 years with the aim of providing opportunities for university graduates and young alumni to join the Immunology Diploma program and continue their studies at European universities to obtain a doctoral degree in the same scientific specialization.
