Conclusion of the Fifth International Pain Management Conference at the Anesthesiology Department of Faculty of Medicine in Collaboration with Guy’s and St. Thomas Hospital in Luxor

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, President of Aswan University, and Prof. Hamdy Hussein, President of Luxor University, attended the conclusion of the fifth international pain management conference held by the Anesthesiology Department at Aswan University in collaboration with Guy’s and St. Thomas Hospital, which took place in Luxor over three days.

Prof. Ayman Othman emphasized the importance of hosting international scientific and medical conferences to enhance educational tourism, exchange expertise, and elevate the research system. that these efforts help Aswan University maintain its scientific and research ranking among various Egyptian and international universities.

Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri, Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals, added that the Anesthesiology, Intensive Care, and Pain Management Department organized this fifth international conference in collaboration with Guy’s and St. Thomas International Hospital, which witnessed successful participation from various Egyptian universities. The conference included more than 30 scientific lectures divided into five discussion sessions focused on new advancements in pain management, as well as a workshop on the use of ultrasound in pain treatment and relief.

The opening of the conference was attended by Prof. Mohamed Zaki, along with Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed, the scientific supervisor of the department in Aswan and the conference chair, and Dr. Adnan Al-Kaisi, representing International St. Thomas.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sayed explained that featured distinguished professors from all Egyptian universities in the same specialty participated in the conference, alongside several doctors from the Ministry of Health and foreign experts. The conference made several recommendations, including addressing challenges in pain management and overcoming them with the latest modern treatment methods, as well as enhancing the research system to keep pace with the latest research in the field, thereby fostering knowledge exchange among young doctors and professors across various Egyptian universities.
