The Conclusion of Climate Change, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security Workshop

Yesterday corresponding to 28th of January 2018 the events of the 2nd international workshop for developing a master’s degree in climate change, sustainable agriculture and food security with credit hours system through e-learning which is funded by Erasmus+ that continued for 4 days under the patronage of Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghalb have been concluded. Several specialists from different universities all over the world (University of Padova, University of Crete, Frederick University,  Heliopolis University, Al-Azhar University, Suez Canal University) have participated in the workshop. Prof. Ghallb said that the workshop was a great opportunity for educational and research experience exchange to serve the educational system and the methods of applied and scientific research in the fields of climate change, sustainable agriculture and food security for the profound connection and interaction between Aswan university and the surrounding society, he added that the workshop aims at raising the students’ awareness of the climate change and its effect on the food security and how to overcome challenges with finding the best solution through sustainable agriculture and make use of climate resources. the conference was participated by Mr. Feislos Makraky – the professor of  the University of Crete and the general coordinator of the project – who has been honored and given the University Sheild from Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Eteify – the professor of botany in the faculty of science -, Dr. Adel Abd Al-Faheim – the professor of mathematics department in the faculty of science – , Dr. Mohammed Abu Al-Leil – the vice dean of the faculty of agriculture and natural resources – and Dr. Wagdi Saber – the professor in the faculty of agriculture, Aswan university -.

The delegation has inspected the campus at Sahary City and Aswan Al-Gadeda, they listened to an informative explanation of the university faculties and specialties from Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab. Dr. Nehal Lotfy – the professor at the faculty of education, Suez Canal university and the program coordinator said that the workshop has made several recommendations of which the most significant are  specification of some courses of the master degree in climate change, sustainable agriculture and food security specification, the completion of  laying down the technical points concerning using the modern methods of  teaching and promoting the concept of Sustainable Agriculture.
