The Council of Graduate Studies and Research convened session No. (146), which was led by Dr. Muhammad Abdul Aziz Muhalal, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, and was attended by the college deans for graduate studies and research, as well as Council members.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz began the session by greeting the audience and then presented a detailed report on the number of postgraduate students at the university’s several faculties, as well as the Institute of African Research and Studies and the Nile Basin Countries. The council also addressed a variety of recommendations for increasing the number of researchers and encouraging scientific research at the institution, with a focus on connecting it to external community and environmental challenges.
Dr. Mahalal confirmed that the council also discussed the faculties’ international publishing activities, including the number of research papers published by each faculty in accredited international scientific journals, with the goal of enriching the research process and improving the university’s ranking at the Egyptian, regional, and international levels.
In another context, the council approved new restrictions for students in a number of the university’s faculties, including the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Energy Engineering, the Institute of African Research and Studies, and the Nile Basin Countries, which help to support scientific research and development.
