The faculty of arts, Aswan university has organized a celebration to honor Prof. Ahemed Ghallab Mohammed – university president – on selecting him among the 100 top Arab figures from Arab Entrepreneurs’ Union and on elapsing a year since appointing him as Aswan university president. The event was attended by the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman, the previous vice president Prof. Ali Abbas Dandrawy, the former dean of the faculty of agriculture, Assuit university Dr. Abd Al-Wahab Abu Nahoul, the dean of the faculty of arts, Aswan university Dr. Shokry Hussin Al-Qantery and a number of the faculties deans and academic staff. The ceremony started by reciting some of Holy Qur’an verses then presenting a documentary prepared by the faculty of arts students on the achievements of Aswan university president during the past year among which are the following:
- Transferring and starting the study in 6 faculties to Aswan university new branch in Aswan Al-Gadeda.
- Allocating a land in the cities of Hallaiab and Shlateen for a university branch with 4 sui generis faculties in line with the surrounding environment of the Red Sea Governorate.
- Inaugurating the new Dialysis unit at Aswan university hospital.
- Inaugurating a health unit in Aswan Al-Gadeda.
Prof. Shokry Al-Qantery has addressed a speech on the vital role of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab in developing the different university sectors and reranking the university among the international ones, he offered him the Faculty Sheild. In a related context, Prof. Ghallab mentioned the university development stages especially attracting foreign students, the study in the African Studies and Nile Basin Countries Institute which was in conjunction with a presidential decree that Aswan university is the capital of culture, economics and arts of the African Continent and upgrading the entrances of Aswan university. At the end of the celebration, the head of Students’ Union has addressed a speech in which he thanked Aswan university president and greeted him on attending the event.
