Today, Faculty of Social work_ Aswan University_ organized the first forum to prepare and qualify Senior students of Faculty of Social Work, entitled “The Forum of Professional and Career Guidance for Graduate Students at Faculty of Social work,” which is held under patronage of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Aswan University president, and in attendance of Prof. Loai Saad Al-Deen Nasrat _ Vice President of Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Sayed Dandrawi_ Vice dean of the faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Abdallah Saber_ Forum Coordinator and Vice President of the Faculty for Community Service and Environment Development, and in attendance of Prof. Ali Abbas Dandrawi_ former Vice President of the University, guests of the forum, Academic Staff, their assistants and Faculty students. The forum’s activities began with the national anthem and then verses from the Holy Quran.
The forum shows were presented by Dr. Ehab Mohamed Ahmed. Dr. Ayman Othman_ President of Aswan University_ stressed the importance of developing students’ skills and abilities in preparation for their inclusion in the labor market and in fulfillment of the directives of the political leadership in paying attention to youth and working to develop their social and professional skills and giving them skills in light of digital transformation and modern technology in the new republic. The forum aims to help graduates obtain job opportunities in the areas of professional practice in social Work, as well as to keep pace with the ongoing developments of the labor market.
Dr. Louai Saad El-Din Nasrat_ Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, welcomed the attendees during his speech, during which he emphasized the role of Faculty of Social Work, which is full of student activities during the academic year. The mission of this forum comes to develop the skills and capabilities of students who are graduates of Faculty of Social Service, which was established in 1995 to graduate Cadres that suit the needs of the social worker’s professional work fields through communication channels between students and civil society organizations. This is the goal of universities today that they are working on after graduation in light of the scarcity of job opportunities.
Dr. Abdallah Saber_Faculty dean for community service and environment development affairs and the forum’s coordinator, added that the forum includes five axes, which are the requirements for obtaining a qualification certificate and job opportunities for graduates. This is in cooperation with the General Authority for Adult Education, Public Service Administration.
The focus of sustainable development projects and their role in qualifying graduates for the labor market in coordination with the Decent Life Foundation, the focus is on civil society associations and their role in providing job opportunities for graduates with the association management, the Investors Association
Dr. Mohamed Sayed Dandrawi, Vice dean for education and student affairs and secretary of the forum, explained that one of the most important axes of the forum is also the axis of qualifying graduates to work in the field of disability in cooperation with the African Foundation and the Foundation of “Our hands are one hand”. The final axis also aims to qualify graduates for craft and heritage works in cooperation with the Women’s Cooperative Association for Handicrafts and Free Southern Foundation.
At the conclusion of the forum, the President of the University, the Vice President of the University, the professors who chaired the forum sessions, and the participants in the forum from governmental and private institutions were honored.
