The Japanese Embassy in Cairo in cooperation with the Faculty of Alsun organized the proceedings of Japanese Cultural Day respectively, in the frame of supporting cultural and educational relations between two sides.
The opening is attended by MG/Ahmed Ibrahim-Aswan Governor, Mr. Masaki Noki – Ambassador of Japan in Cairo, Prof.Ahmed Ghallab Mohammed –Aswan University President, Mr. Akihiro Iwasaki – Vice President of JICA in Egypt,Vices Presidents of Aswan University, Dean of Faculty of Alsun and a group of deans of faculties, academic staff and university’s students.
Ghallab confirmed that the university is very careful about hosting this cultural day periodically for strengthening the relations between the two friendly countries Egypt and Japan, moreover developing skills of the students of Japanese language department in Faculty of Alsun.
He declared that the language is the strongest link among peoples so Japanese language department plays important role in Aswan University to strength the several relations between Egypt and Japan and exchange of cultures and experiences between the two countries, moreover cultural days that are organized in Faculty of Alsun go hand in hand with curriculum because it is contributing in forming the character of students and developing their different skills in the field of translation and other artistic activities.
He also praised the scientific cooperation between Aswan University and Japanese universities, where several protocols of cooperation between the two sides were signed in the fields of scientific research, exchanging between students and joint scientific projects, the most recent of which was the signing of a protocol of cooperation with both (Tokyo University ,Tsukuba University) Japan last October,during the visit of Aswan University ‘s delegation to Japan in last October.
Dr.Nasser Abdul Razik-Dean of Faculty of Alsun in Aswan University pointed out that Japanese language department includes three batches in total (73students) and two batches were graduated during the last two years,this department contributes to increasing the cultural interaction between Egypt and Japan and supporting labor market with distinguished and qualified scientific career ,also the department includes three academic staff two of the Japanese volunteers.
From his side, Mr. Masaki Noki – Ambassador of Japan in Cairo pointed out that his care to participate in this cultural day for supporting the students of Japanese Language Department and encourage them on studying and learning as a learning language, in general, allows people to know different cultures of peoples.
He expressed his hopes that the students of Japanese Language Department to be as a connection between Egypt and Japan in the near future.
He declared that the government of Japan specified scholarship for Egyptian graduate students and professors to continue the learning and scientific research in Japan and this scholarship was launched during this month, also there is another scholarship to Japan will be organized by Ministry of High Education &Scientific Research in Egypt for the second and third batches in faculties for one month during the summer vacation in Japan and this in the light of scientific and research cooperation between Egypt and Japan.
