Minister of Manpower participates with 500 students in planting 9 acres at Aswan University

Mohamed Saafan_Minister of Manpower_ signed a protocol of cooperation with Aswan University in the fields of spreading the culture of self-employment and occupational safety and health. He planted a tree inside the university campus as part of the “Hangamelha” initiative, on an area of 9 acres.

This came in attendance of Major General / Ashraf Attia_Aswan Governor, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ University President, Prof. Mohamed Mahgoub Azzouz – President of Luxor University, Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Wahab – Director of the Manpower Directorate in the governorate, and Dr. Mohamed Said Kobtan – General Coordinator of the initiative, and a number of Faculty deans, as well as 500 students, will continue cultivating productive trees on the same area, within the framework of the initiative, which was launched at the level of the Republic.

The Minister of Manpower stated that the initiative aims to beautify the university and preserve fruitful trees, which include olive, lemon and fig trees, pointing to the importance of the Hangamelha initiative _“We will beautify it”_ to increase green spaces, praising Aswan University’s support for the initiative with a strategic dimension and the project to plant fruitful trees of economic value, saluting all participants in the initiative.

For his part, Aswan University President Ghallab stressed on the concern of the university on planting all places in the university to increase the green space as well as develop awareness among university students of the importance of trees and preserving the environment, and praised this initiative, which contributes in planting one million fruitful trees.

He stressed the university’s keenness to participate in all societal initiatives that aim to serve the country within the framework of the state’s direction to replant fruitful trees of economic value, with the aim of raising the values ​​of beauty and reducing pollution rates.

He added that the initiative aims to plant fruitful trees in the university, to have an economic return and have the ability to confront climate changes, rationalization of water consumption, and replace these trees with wooden trees that consume large amounts of water and without an economic return, stressing that this initiative aims to increase The green spaces at Aswan University, and also the planting these trees is a kind of investment in the long term.

Dr. Ghallab expressed his thanks and gratitude to those in charge of this initiative, praising the efforts made to reach areas that suffer from a lack of green spaces, as well as spreading the spirit of teamwork among students by participating in tree planting.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Qobtan_General Coordinator of the hangamelha initiative “We Will beautify It” indicated that the initiative aims to plant fruitful trees in Egyptian governorates, villages, universities and main streets, and spreading environmental awareness, in implementation of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s directives, on the necessity of activating meaningful community participation.
