
Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Aswan University President, honored the university’s five-a-side football team for reaching to the final in the Martyr Al-Rifai tournament hosted by South Valley University, in attendance of Prof. Loai Saad El-Din Nasrat, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Nour_ Technical Director of the university team, the General manager of Central Youth Welfare administration, the administration staff, and the team’s supervisors.
Dr. Ayman Othman_Aswan University President, declared that the participation of the university’s sports teams in student activities and sports tournaments is part university’s plan to activate student activities throughout the academic year and working to unleash the energies of youth in order to enhance loyalty and belonging to our beloved Egypt away from destructive ideas.
Additionally Prof. Louai Saad El-Din Nasrat, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, mentioned that the tournament was held at South Valley University in Qena as part of Aswan University’s participation in the 51st Martyr Al-Rifai Five-a-side tournament for student, the tournament included Aswan, South Valley, and Beni Suef, Derayah, and Sohag in the third group. Aswan University was the only university that got the full score by winning all the matches, as it defeated Beni Suef University in the first match with a score of 4 – 2, and a victory over Sohag University in the second match with a score of 2 – 0, then it defeated Deraya University with a score of 6-0. then winning the fourth match over the hosting university of South Valley, with a score of 4 – 0. The team displayed an impressive performance and was the strongest attack in the group, scoring 16 goals, as well as the strongest defense in the group, with the fewest goals, only 4, with the final rounds will be played in Cairo.
Dr. Abdel-Nasser Gabr, the university’s advisor for sports affairs and the supervisor of sports facilities, explained that the Aswan University team included Marwan Mohamed, Ahmed Nasser, Hassan Abdel-Maqsoud, Alaa El-Din Mandour, Mohamed Ramadan, Youssef Abo Sitta, Arsanius, Ali Hassan, and At the end ofth event and the honering cermony: The university team players took memorial photos with the university president and the attendees from university’s leaders. The university is also witnessing a major boom in sports facilities, including stadiums, indoor halls, and a swimming pool, and the new building for the faculty of Physical Education ids being contructed on the University campus in Sahari.
