Today morning the second stage of the Universities’ Road Race which is organized by Aswan university in cooperation with Egyptian University Sports Federation has been launched headed by Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, the minister of higher education and scientific research Prof. Khaled Abd Al-Ghaffar and Aswan governor Maj. Gen. Magdi Hegazi. The event was attended by the first deputy head of University Sports Federation Dr. Mohammed Sobhy Hasanein, the Union’s secretary Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, the vice president of education and students’ affairs Prof. Hanan Abd Al-Moneam and the dean of the faculty of physical education Dr. Abd Al-Rahman Abd Al-Baset. In the same context, Prof. Ghallab asserted that 10 students from each university in addition to 10 students with special needs participated in the race, he added that the race’s distance is 3 km. It should be noted that the starting point for the female students was from Ferial Garden and for the male students from Al-Tagdeef Club to Aswan Sports Stadium, at the end of the marathon the winners have been honored and granted medals and a Cup for the 1st place winner.
