In frame of the endeavor of Aswan University, headed by Prof. Ayman Othman, to train and qualify university students for the labor market; His Excellency said that the University Center for Career Development at Aswan University had organized an all-day workshop on financial inclusion and entrepreneurship within the framework of the financial inclusion initiative sponsored by the Central Bank of Egypt. The center, in cooperation with Saib Bank, held a financial educational workshop for students of Aswan University, in attendance of More than 400 students, reviewed the concept of financial inclusion, its importance for individuals and institutions alike, and its role in economic growth and financial stability in Egypt.
Prof. Ayman Othman added that the university strives with all its efforts to develop the skills of its students for real competition among graduates. His Excellency also praised the Center’s role in attracting many powerful entities in several sectors, including the banking sector. Dr. Amal Abdel-Wahed – Director of the Career Development Centers Project at the American University – participated in the meeting today, as well as Dr. Sheerin Farouk – Director of the Private Sector Initiatives Sector at the American University.
“Othman” praised the University Centers for Career development implemented by the American University in Cairo in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development and the Ministry of Higher Education, which began in 2017, and so far 13 public universities have participated in it, with 20 university centers, and it is planned to reach 30 centers at the level of 20 public universities, which works to equip students with the skills required for the labor market through components of labor market studies and various partnerships with business owners and companies in the governorate.
Dr. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat – Vice President for Education and Student Affairs – explained that banking products, services and banking financial solutions that suit the target groups of financial inclusion were presented, as well as the type of jobs created in the banking sector and how to prepare and qualify for them, through a representative from the bank with great banking experience, the day also included a workshop on entrepreneurship, through a representative from the Egyptian Banking Institute with great experience in the field of entrepreneurship. This comes within the framework of cooperation that took place between Saib Bank, the University Center for Career Development (UCCD), and the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), which Providing an intensive symposium on entrepreneurship.
Saib Bank also provided many services that help young people join the financial inclusion initiative in accordance with the instructions of the Central Bank and Egypt’s Vision 2030, and these services include:
– Open an account without fees and without a minimum balance.
– Issuing a prepaid card without fees.
– Participation in the Internet banking service without fees.
– Participation in the mobile banking application without fees.
– Participation in the Saib Wallet service without fees.
Ms. Laila Ramadan Saadi – Director of the Career Development Center – stated that the Center has provided more than 1,500 job opportunities and practical training in companies and factories in many different sectors and specializations, and is working to produce graduates with a high degree of competence and skill required for the labor market, as the Center has been able to do since its opening on January 16, 2020, more than 30,000 training and vocational qualification opportunities were provided at a high level of quality, and 9 cooperation agreements were signed with major companies and institutions operating in Aswan.
