5.6.1 Policy of non-discrimination against women

Aswan University follows policies against racism and discrimination against women and other unrepresented groups. Therefore, Aswan University has set policies to ensure that women are properly represented in all activities and participations. Especially admission to the university and it has the right to choose study programs and departments that perfectly fit her. 
Aswan University has set Policy of non-discrimination against womenwhich serves as a steadfast beacon of our core values, encompassing students, faculty, staff, visitors, and participants in university endeavors, whether on-campus or within digital realms. It holds way over all university premises, facilities, and virtual domains.
Aswan University set a policy of “Women’s Charter” addressing women’s applications, acceptance, entry, and participation at the university. 
Moreover, the Egyptian Constitution guarantees the achievement of equality between women and men in all civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution. The state shall endeavor to take measures to ensure adequate representation of women in the representative councils, in the manner specified by law, and it also guarantees the right of women to assume public and senior management positions in the state and appointments in judicial bodies and bodies, without discrimination against them. The state commits to protecting women against all forms of violence and guarantees empowering women to reconcile family duties with work requirements. It is also committed to providing care and protection for motherhood, childhood, breadwinning women, the elderly, and women most in need.
As well, Aswan University has established a special unit Anti-Violence against women Unit to support women and enhance their status in the university.
