Training Course for 50 Imams and Preachers Held at the Faculty of Education

As part of the cooperation protocol between Aswan University and the Ministry of Awqaf, a training course for 50 imams and preachers was inaugurated today at Faculty of Education. Dr. Loai Saad El-Din Nasrat, the Acting President of Aswan University, welcomed Sheikh Mahmoud Hanfi Diab, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf in Aswan, and Sheikh Mahmoud Fakhr El-Din Moussa.

Prof. Loai stated that Aswan University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Awqaf, has agreed to conduct a training course for 50 imams and preachers from the Aswan Directorate of Awqaf in the fields of psychological guidance and sociology. The course will begin on Monday, September 23, and continue until Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

He added that the protocol aims to train and qualify imams and preachers, enhancing their intellectual and cultural capacities in the sciences of the Quran and the Sunnah, as well as addressing various contemporary religious issues. This initiative is part of the collaboration between the two parties to raise awareness and education on contemporary issues, including Arabic language sciences, psychology, communication skills, and the art of elocution. The protocol involves cooperation with the faculties of Arts, Dar Al-Uloom, Social Work, and Medicine.

Sheikh Mahmoud Hanfi Diab emphasized that this course reflects the state’s interest in developing imams and preachers, modernizing religious discourse, combating destructive ideas, and addressing the changes and challenges facing society in light of the developments that affect his ethics.
