As part of Aswan University’s commitment to enhancing the medical services provided to citizens and improving the infrastructure of university hospitals, the university, under the patronage of Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of the University, and in coordination with Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, announced the receipt of a fully equipped intensive care unit for the General Internal Medicine Department at Aswan University Hospital. This unit was generously donated by Banque Misr.
The unit includes state-of-the-art medical equipment, featuring 20 multi-functional electric ICU beds, 10 ventilators, 20 medical monitoring devices, 20 automatic infusion syringes for critical patients, and 10 infusion pumps.
Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat stated that this achievement comes within the framework of the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the healthcare system in Aswan Governorate and to provide the necessary support for the critical care departments at the university hospital. He emphasized that the fruitful collaboration with Banque Misr represents an exemplary model of support for the healthcare sector.
For his part, Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri affirmed that receiving the unit marks a significant step forward in supporting the General Internal Medicine Department. It enhances the hospital’s capacity to receive more critical cases and deliver high-quality, efficient medical services. He praised the cooperation of all parties involved in achieving this vital humanitarian and medical goal to serve patients across the southern governorates of Upper Egypt.
Additionally, Dr. Hala El-Obaidi, Head of the Internal Medicine Department, completed the coordination with Banque Misr and received the donated ICU unit. She expressed her sincere gratitude and appreciation to Banque Misr and everyone who contributed to the success of this humanitarian initiative, particularly the university leadership, the executive management of the university hospitals, and the supporting teams. She confirmed that the department will continue to provide the best possible services to patients through its distinguished medical staff and trained nursing team.
