The presence of The Center of Civilization and Heritage within the university directly reflects the university’s interest in assuming its responsibilities towards society in the governorate of Aswan in preserving heritage in general and the Aswan heritage in particular.

The center has made several events and achievements during 2022/2023 by which it reflects its role towards recording and documenting the local and regional cultural heritage
The Center has made an inventory of the manifestations of the intangible cultural heritage:
- Aswan Music Arts
- The arts of folk dance or Aswan’s folklore
- Aswan singing arts
- The arts of storytelling and oral communication
- The art of Aswan perfume installation
- The art of installing Aswan incense
- The art of installing cosmetics from natural elements
- Aswan various foods and drinks throughout the year or on different occasions
- The clothes and costumes of the people of Aswan, both men and women
- Henna painting
- Aswan customs and traditions on various occasions
- Crafts and Handicrafts:
- (Ornaments and adornments such as necklaces – bracelets – earrings – head decorations – bags of wool and macrame threads – Ramadan lanterns – caps – keffiyehs – palm products: palm arjun – wicker – fiber – pottery – kilims – bedspreads).
Aswan University has also taken a serious step to preserve the handicrafts from extinction, as the “Aswan Civilization and Heritage” Center has documented the products by shopping them directly in the local markets or in the events and festivals witnessed by the university and the governorate.
