Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, witnessed the launch of the Cyber Youth Training Camp at the Digital Egypt Center in Sahari. The camp is being held from July 13 to 17, 2025, as part of fruitful cooperation between Aswan University, the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), and EGCERT, under the generous patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat emphasized that the camp targets youth aged 10 to 17 years, specifically students in pre-university education. The camp comes at a critical time, given the growing cyber threats that are increasingly targeting young people directly, especially through digital applications, suspicious websites, and cyber fraud schemes.
He pointed out that organizing the camp aligns with the state’s strategy in the New Republic, which places great importance on youth, aiming to enhance their digital awareness and empower them to face the challenges that may arise in the world of the internet and modern technologies. Youth are the leaders of the future and the guardians of digital security.
Nasrat explained that the camp aims to train young people in the fundamentals of digital safety, raise awareness about the dangers of sharing personal information, and enhance their ability to use modern technologies safely and responsibly. This is especially significant in light of recent events in the country, such as the Ramses Central fire and the subsequent rumors that spread via social media.
During the camp’s activities, the team—comprising Engineer Mahdi Gabriel Mahdi, Engineer Hesham Ahmed Hussein, and Engineer Kyrillos Makram Soliman—delivered a series of awareness and training lectures on personal data protection, methods to defend against cyberattacks, and safe interaction with the digital world.
This camp represents a pioneering step toward building a digitally aware generation, equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to confidently and safely navigate the future.
