Aswan University Organizes a “Day for Egypt”

Aswan governor Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim gave the go-ahead to lunch the proceedings of Aswan University’s Environmental Day “A Day for Egypt”. It included decorating the University’s Entrance in the airport road passing by Languages Distinicit School which covers 3-kilometer length. The day aimed at planting 1500 fruit, bougainvillea, and ornamental trees among a plan to decorate and afforest the airport road up to Aswan Low Dam with 10-kilometer length. The event was attended by Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, the assistant general secretary Mr. Abd L Naser Abd Al Hamid, the university’s vice presidents, the faculties’ deans in addition to broad participation of university students. Maj. Gen. Ahmd Ibrahim thanked Aswan University on this distinct initiative as a positive and honoring model for the meaningful social engagement to participate directly in upholding the executive efforts in order to raise the efficiency of the Airport Road to highlight a touch of beauty for the tourists and the visitors, in general, aiming at converting the road to a civilized spot to Aswan, the Capital of African Youth,. The governor praised the considerable participation of the university students which showed their awareness of boosting the positive behavior and spreading the culture of maintaining the environment. In the same context, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim confirmed on the governorate’s support to all the purposeful initiatives referring to the coordination with Aswan university to invest all desert areas on either side of the Airport Road to transform it into green areas by creating farms and greenhouses to provide the different agricultural products, he asked to raise the environmental awareness through the mass media welcoming any suggestions that help in achieving that purpose and converting Aswan to a fully aesthetic attraction. For his part, Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab declared that the Environmental Day was organized to develop and raise the efficiency of the university’s entrance as a part of participating in Aswan governorate’s plan to improve this significant road which is daily visited by tourists. He added that 1500 palms and bushes were planted in the area that is opposite to the university’s entrance aiming at establishing a fence of palms and ornamental trees on the two sides of Aswan International Airport Road.
