Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab witnessed the events of the medical convey organized by Aswan university in cooperation with Ebtesama (Smile) Association and Aswan health directorate in the presence of the dean of the faculty of medicine Prof. Mohmmed Zaki Al Dahshori and Aswan health directorate’s undersecretary Dr. Ihab Hanafy.
Prof. Ghallab said that the convoy is organized as a part of the university’s community service plan and to provide medical service to the poor for both child and adult patients in Aswan as well as Upper Egyptian governorates. The convoy will continue till tomorrow Saturday. It treats Cleft lip, Cleft Palate and Pediatric Skull deformities in Aswan university hospital’s plastic surgery department. The convoy includes several specialties (plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, anesthesia, intensive care, orthodontics, language and speech as well as medical labs). Social care and medical registration are provided through Egyptian specialists and prestigious international consultant doctors from (the USA, Britain, Italy, Pakistan, Morocco) in cooperation with nursing staff and the full assisting body of the International Association for Smile Operation under the supervision of Prof. Mohammed El Shazly, the Association chairman in Egypt’s branch and the professor of plastic surgery in Assiut university. Prof. Ghallab and Prof. El Shazly listened the complaints of some patients.
Prof. Dahshori added that the convoy aims at performing surgeries for repairing cleft lip, cleft palate and the accompanying deformities as Dysarthria with modern surgeries. It is expected that the convoy will perform about 125-170 surgeries and examine more than 670 cases from Aswan different villages and areas as will as the surrounding governorates accompanied with health awareness meetings in Aswan university hospital.
Aswan university hospital’s plastic surgery department’s chairman and the convoy’s coordinator Dr. Ahmed Qenawy Mosa said that the convoy includes 92 visitors among whom 45 foreign ones differentiated from doctors, nurses, coordinators as well as technical staff for serving the medical convoy which was inaugurated in the department of plastic surgery in Aswan university hospital which managed to organize such a convoy in cooperation with the participating medical entities for promoting the medical service provided for the patients in an accurate area of the specialty of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
