Aswan University organizes two medical convoys for people of flood-affected areas

Aswan University organized two free medical convoys for people of El- Shallal and Ezbet El-Nahda areas in Kima and those people who affected by Flood, as part of the initiative of President. Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s for the community participation of Egyptian universities in 100 Million Health Initiative.

Dr. Ayman Othman_ Aswan University president _ confirmed, in a statement today, that the first day of the two medical convoys includes the areas of El-Shallal and Ezbet El-Nahda in Kima. The convoy included 18 medical specialties for each of them, and the affected people are examined, with dispending medicines, and conducting medical analysis for free.

Aswan University President added, in a press release, that the convoy includes organizing a number of different symposiums on reproductive health and first aid, with participation of faculties of Medicine and Aswan University Hospital, for the cohesion of university institutions with citizens in light of the damages suffered by Aswan Governorate as a result of the recent floods.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Zaki_ Faculty of Medicine Dean, continued that the University Hospital and Faculty of Medicine at Aswan University play their medical and societal role towards the community and the surrounding environment, and in light of the heavy rains that Aswan Governorate was subjected to and the injury of some citizens, it was necessary for us to provide medical care to the people of El-shallal and Ezbet El-Nahda in Kima area, and the most affected, medical examinations are given to patients, free treatment is provided, and surgical cases are transferred to Aswan University Hospital.

Dr. Ashraf Mebed_ Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals_ indicated that the two convoys include all medical specialties to provide medical care and continue for a week, starting from today in El-Shallal and Ezbet El-Nahda areas in Kima, and then continue their effectiveness for the people of Ezbet El-Nahda in Kima throughout the week to serve the people of Aswan Governorate in light of the crisis that The governorate was subjected to rain, with free treatment provided.

The activities of the two medical convoys were launched from the University Hospital under auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar_ Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research_ Dr. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_Acting President of Aswan University_ Dr. Mohamed Zaki El Dahshoury_Faculty of Medicine Dean and Chairman of Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals_ and Dr. Mohamed Mostafa_Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environment Development _and Dr. Ashraf Ahmed Mebed_ Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals.
