Today corresponding to 10th Feb. 2020 Aswan governor Maj. Gen. Ashraf Atteya, Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, dean of the faculty of medicine Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al Dahshori, undersecretary of the ministry of health Dr. Ihab Hanfy, Aswan university hospitals executive manager Dr. Ashraf Meeabed, the director of the central administration of the hospital health affairs Dr. Essam Abu Al Magd and the executive manager of Egyptian Cure Bank Dr. Moez Al Shahdy witneesed the inauguration of the new Intensive Care Unit of Aswan university hospital. For his part Dr. Moez Al Shahdy said that Egyptian Cure Bank is working on providing free health care system for the poor who cannot afford the medicine’s expenses. Opening a new ICU in addition to the 75 existing ones is a significant addition to the patients. In the same context, Prof. Ghallab said that the new ICU is a donation from Egyptian Cure Bank. The unit includes 10 IC beds, 10 monitors, a central patient monitoring, 18 infusion pumps, 5 medicine pumps, 5 vacuum mattress, and 10 modern ventilators which cost EGP 10 millions. A new medical waste incinerator was operated which costs EGP 7 millions. Prof. Dahshori said that intensive care unit is a key component in every hospital which we call a unit for saving the patient’s life. It is a significant addition in Aswan university hospital. Dr. Meebed said that the university hospital receives all cases from Aswan and the surrounding governorates and seeks to provide a high-elevated medical service.
