According to Aswan university president’s directions, Aswan University took part in the 18th Annual Conference that was held recently by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development in the Arab League in Muscat, Oman under the title” Arab Governments’ Role in Achieving the Objectives of Sustainable Development 2030”. In this context, the vice president of community service and environmental affairs Prof. Ahmed Sayed Khalil said that the conference handled several significant themes like digital transformation in sustainable development, sustainable development’s objectives in the Arab world, challenges that face the Arabic governments in preparing the national plan of development as well as the Anti-Corruption Authority’s role in achieving the goals of the sustainable development 2030.
Prof. Khalil added that he introduced a working paper on the government’s role in sustainable development, the paper included different proposals to be followed by the governments in order to achieve Sustainable Development among which: raising the efficiency of local capacities for environment management and developing its natural resources, having access to the available knowledge of the industrial countries for avoiding the expected faults, bearing in mind the environmental considerations in development plans, collecting accurate information on the local environmental systems and its geographical and biological circumstances, public engagement in the development projects by taking their suggestions into consideration, taking care of the critical environment: drylands, lakes and swales areas, urbanization areas as well as finding solutions for resources scarcity in order to enhance the quality of life.
