Strategic research partnerships strengthen the university’s global position in postgraduate studies and scientific innovation.
Within the framework of Aswan University’s vision, under the auspices of Prof. Louai Saad El-Din Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, to promote international collaboration and strengthen ties with leading academic institutions worldwide, Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Muhalal Arabi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, paid an official visit to China University of Mining and Technology—one of Asia’s pioneering institutions in engineering, technology, and scientific research.
In this regard, Prof. Louai Saad El-Din Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, said, “This partnership with the China University of Mining and Technology embodies Aswan University’s commitment to strengthening its international standing and developing its research system in line with national priorities and global scientific developments. We believe that academic openness is the key to building a modern university with a global and research impact that keeps pace with the global boom in higher education.
During the visit, Dr. Mahlaal held a series of fruitful meetings with officials from the Chinese university, headed by Prof. Chen Hao, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Head of the Electric Vehicles Center, along with the University Vice President and Head of International Relations. The meeting was also attended by Assist. Prof. Mahmoud Abdel Wahab, Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Aswan University. The delegation also toured a number of advanced laboratories and research centers, where opportunities for research cooperation, researcher exchange, and the implementation of joint scientific projects between the two sides were discussed.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Muhalal Arabi highlighted the importance of this step, explaining that the visit has opened up new horizons for the exchange of expertise and research collaboration in strategic fields such as renewable energy, electric transportation, and environmental engineering. He further stated: “We are committed to transforming these understandings into concrete agreements that will serve our students, researchers, academic staff, and their assistants across Aswan University’s 18 faculties and two institutes.”
This effort reflects of Aswan University’s strategy to elevate its academic and research rankings and to strengthen international exchange programs that enhance the capacities of academic staff while improving the quality of scientific research in support of sustainable development.
For his part, the President of China University of Mining and Technology expressed his delight at the anticipated collaboration, stating:
“We look forward to building a long-term partnership with Aswan University, one that embodies the spirit of cooperation between our two countries and reflects our joint commitment to fostering innovation in vital sectors that shape the future of education and scientific research.”
