Aswan University president: “The climate conference is a turning point to a new world”

     Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _Aswan University President _ declared that within the framework of state’s efforts, scientific institutions and universities in light of the launch of the activities of the Climate Conference Cop27, in attendance of more than 40 thousand participants to talk and negotiate on climate change issues, and official participation from 197 countries in the framework of The United Nations Convention on Climate Change, along with ministers, negotiators, climate activists, representatives of civil society and chief executives, whose activities will continue until 18th  November, in Sharm El-Sheikh.

       His Excellency stressed that what is happening on the land of Sharm El-Sheikh city is a turning point to a new world in order to build a brighter future for our peoples and for future generations, pointing out that this conference is the largest annual gathering on climate action to take action on a set of critical issues to address the climate emergency and discuss Its impact on the environment, and the efforts of those participating countries to confront and address this problem, leading to the fulfillment of financing commitments for climate action in developing countries.

    The university president appreciated the pioneering role of the Egyptian state in advancing sustainable development, which works for the benefit of future generations, adding that Egypt hosts the COP 27 climate conference puts it among the countries that apply the rules of sustainable development.

     His Excellency explained that the university held several symposiums and workshops under the slogan “Our Country Hosts”, and this came within the framework of implementing the environmental guide preparation program for the national initiative for the COP27 Climate Change Conference and to work on implementing 2 training programs for 100 environmental guides from Aswan University students to raise awareness of climate issues of Aswan citizen.
