Aswan University in cooperation with Egyptian University Sports Federation organized a Road Race along Aswan Nile Cornice which is a part of the first Egyptian Afro-Arab championship organized by Aswan University and continues for 3 days under the patronage of the minister of higher education and scientific research Prof. Khaled Abd Al Ghaffar as well as the minister of youth and sport Dr. Ashraf Sobhy. 322 students from different Egyptian universities in addition to African and Arab students took part in the event. The race’s launch was witnessed by Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman, the vice president of education and student’s affairs Prof. Hanan Abd Al Moneam, the deputy head of University Sports Federation Dr. Sobhy Mohammed Hussin, the assistant secretary of the minister of youth and sport Dr. Amr Hadad, the dean of the faculty of physical education Dr. Abd Al Rahman Abd Al Basset and the deputy minister of youth and sport Mr. Fathy Abd Al Hafez. Prof. Ghallab declared that the first Egyptian Afro-Arab championship includes several contests; road race for male, female and disabled students, an ergometer contest for physical fitness and Kayak. He added that Arab and African students take part in the event which helps in enhancing the sense of belonging among the youth of the Arab World and the African one, he added that the university is going to organize the African Universities Youth Weak in October 2019.
