Training, Psychological Counseling and Human Development Unit

The unit seeks to achieve a distinguished and pioneering position in providing services, psychological counseling, and training for all segments of society and to be a role model in this field.

Mission:

Providing appropriate service to achieve mental health and compatibility, developing the capabilities of Academic staff, their assistants, students, and workers at Aswan University, and providing community services for ordinary individuals and people with special needs of all ages.

Goals:

The unit aims to:

  1. Providing training and psychological, social, and administrative consultations for community institutions.
  2. Providing guidance and psychological counseling services, whether therapeutic, marital, family or youth counseling, for ordinary or people with special needs.

  4. Providing training programs for nurses, psychologists and social workers, teachers and researchers in the field of psychology and special education who work with students.
  5. Holding counseling courses and programs in management Psychology and professional and psychological rehabilitation for workers in various professional fields to rehabilitate their employees and increase their professional competencies.
  6. Preparing Mentoring programs for young people inside and outside the university aimed at protecting them intellectually from destructive intellectual currents and behavioral deviations.
  7. Calling for holding local, Arab, and international scientific symposiums and conferences in the fields of psychological counseling.
  8. Conducting studies and research in the field of psychological guidance and counseling.
  9. Identifying some of the fears of the student, the trainer, and the psychological counselor to adapt to the different situations to which he is exposed during his work, removing many of his fears, thus providing him with an atmosphere that encourages sustainable professional development. guide and try to support them with some directions that make them avoid and overcome these fears.

Achievements:

1-Participation in the deans’ session with two lectures in October 2022.

2-The University’s Vice President commissioned seminars on psychology and its function in students’ environmental behavior.

Based on the recommendations of the Climate Change Conference, Vice-University  President for Student Affairs and Education commissioned seminars titled Psychology and its Role in the Environmental Behavior of University Students.

3-Community participation visits to discuss the challenges they encounter and how to treat them for:

a. Aswan New Official Language School, on 11/22/2022.

B. Naguib Mahfouz French Language School on 5/1/2023.

C . Muhammad Makkawi Yacoub Language School on 25/2/2023.

School principals, instructors, and some students gather to examine violent behavior in the school, its causes, factors influencing it, and treatment options; and to advise parents and kids on how to deal with it.

4-On March 20, 2023, a visit to the Health Technical Institute in Aswan to discuss students’ behavioral, psychological, and academic concerns.

5- Develop a program in collaboration with Vice-University President for Student Affairs and Education to address academic issues that lead to university student failure in various faculties.
