Signing a cooperation protocol between Aswan University and the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources

Within the framework of the Aswan University plan headed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed – President of Aswan University, for community service and environmental development, a cooperation protocol was signed today, Sunday, between Aswan University and the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, in the presence of Eng. Mohamed Ali Ibrahim Al-Sharouni – Undersecretary of the Ministry of Irrigation in Aswan and Head of the Central Administration And in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ayman Othman – Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Muhammad Zakaria – Director of the Center.
Whereas, “Ghellab” stressed that the signing of the protocol comes within the framework of the presidential orientation to seek the assistance of universities and research centers to provide scientific advice because the university represents the house of expertise and in light of wasting water resources with old irrigation. The protocol includes conducting modern engineering designs, working on developing modern irrigation networks and systems, and supervising projects affiliated with the Ministry Irrigation, and preparing to offer documents within the governorate.
As indicated by Eng. Mohamed Ali Al-Sharrouni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation in Aswan, the signing of the protocol comes within the framework of the plan and keenness of state agencies and the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation to support development axes, including irrigation, development, and agriculture, and with the directives of the President of the Republic, the Ministry of Irrigation is carrying out projects to rehabilitate canals and irrigation networks to improve The case of irrigation and reducing water losses in a way that increases the productivity of agricultural lands and supports the economy, and the need of the Ministry of Irrigation to benefit from the scientific and engineering expertise of Aswan University and the Center for Engineering Studies and Consultations at the university to maximize the benefit. A cooperation protocol was signed between the university and the Ministry of Irrigation, in order to carry out studies and designs for these projects with the general supervision of the works Tests and quality control work.

Prof. Dr. Ayman Othman, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, added that the university has prepared an ambitious plan for cooperation with various governmental institutions and civil society organizations by providing all research expertise and consultancy studies in the advancement of sectors, and this protocol is the culmination of the university’s plan.

Prof. Dr. Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat – Dean of the College of Engineering and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center, explained that it includes a group of specialists from senior university professors in various academic and scientific disciplines. The Center provides all engineering consultancy and scientific studies and has professors specialized in the field of water, irrigation, dam construction, and work Ali opens new horizons for development in the field of maximizing water resources in Aswan.

Dr. Mohamed Zakaria Abdel Hamid, the engineering advisor to the university, stated that a cooperation protocol was signed between the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources, represented by Eng. Mohamed Ali Al-Sharon, head of the Central Department of Water Resources and Irrigation for Aswan Governorate, and between Aswan University, represented by Prof. Aswan University, and I signed the protocol on behalf of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghallab, President of the University, to conduct studies, research, tests, measurements, inspections, prepare reports, provide technical advice, quality control work, and supervise the implementation of the projects of the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources within the framework of preserving water resources and supporting development axes. The protocol was signed in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghalab Mohamed – President of Aswan UniversityAnd Eng.
