The 145th meeting of Aswan University Council was held under the presidency of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, the university president, in the attendance of Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, and the university’s vice presidents: Prof. Loai Saad El-din Nasrat, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Oraby, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, as well as Advisor. Mohamed Fawzi, the Legal Advisor to the University President and Deputy of the State Council president. Deans of faculties, advisors to the university president, and council members also attended.
The council meeting was opened with welcoming to Major General. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, and council members. The Governor expressed his gratitude for being invited to attend the first council meeting of Aswan University and praised the university since its establishment in 2012 by Presidential Decree No. 311. He commended its scholars in various scientific, research, and medical fields, noting that Aswan University is a hub of expertise for the governorate and it is as a scientific beacon offering educational, research, and medical services to Aswan community.
During the meeting, Prof. Loai Saad El-Din Nasrat, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, presented a shield of appreciation to Prof. Ayman Othman, President of Aswan University, for his distinguished role and diligent efforts in advancing the university during his tenure. Prof. Ayman Othman highlighted that the university relies on three sectors: student affairs and education, graduate studies and research, and community service and environment development. He underscored the university’s achievements in scientific rankings and its significant advancements in the medical system, crediting the efforts of Academic staff at Faculty of Medicine and university hospitals in implementing the university’s strategic plan.
Major General. Ismail Kamal presented a shield of Aswan Governorate to Prof. Ayman Osman, Aswan University President, while Prof. Ayman Othman presented the university shield to Major General. Ismail Kamal. The council also discussed various aspects of cooperation between the university and the governorate, highlighting their intertwined collaboration in different fields. University President Ayman Othman extended his gratitude to all university staff. Several civil society institutions in Aswan honored him on the sidelines of the council meeting.
