Aswan University President Attends Graduation Ceremony for the Second Batch of 2021/2022 Students from the University Career Development Center and Signs Memoranda of Understanding

On Tuesday, Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Osman, Aswan University President, and Dr. Loai Saad El-Din, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, attended the graduation ceremony for the second batch of students from the Career Development Center at Aswan University. The event was held under the auspices of the Hayah Karima Foundation in Aswan, with the attendance of Dr. Maha Fakhry, Executive Director of the Career Development Centers Project in Egyptian universities, Dr. Amal Abdel-Wahed, Director of the Career Development Centers Project, Dr. Mohamed Salah, Coordinator of Hayah Karima in Aswan, and Ms. Leila Ramadan Saadi, Director of the center, along with Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Al-Shazly, Deputy Director of the center.

The ceremony began with a welcome speech from Prof. Ayman Osman, followed by remarks from a representative of the American University. In his address, the President highlighted the center’s efforts in preparing students and graduates for the labor market and emphasized the center’s role in forming partnerships with key stakeholders in Aswan’s labor market. He noted that the center had signed cooperation agreements with various market actors to provide practical training opportunities for students and graduates at different companies and institutions.

Prof. Osman praised the University Centers for Career Development project, which is implemented by the American University in Cairo in collaboration with USAID and the Ministry of Higher Education. This initiative, which began in 2017, currently involves 13 public universities with 20 centers, aiming to expand to 30 centers across 20 universities, equipping students with the skills needed in the labor market through studies and partnerships with businesses in the region.

Dr. Maha Fakhry acknowledged the strong relationship with Aswan University and expressed gratitude to the university administration for its unlimited support of the center’s training initiatives for graduates and students.

Prof. Loai Saad El-Din noted the presence of various business owners and companies in Aswan at the ceremony, acknowledging their contributions to developing the skills of Aswan University students through offering job and training opportunities. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to volunteers from Aswan University. It is noteworthy that the center has served over 25,000 students in recent periods and signed three cooperation protocols with Tawfiq and Al-Salam Academy Sports and Benban Solar, aimed at providing numerous activities and practical training for Aswan University students and graduates.

Ms. Leila Ramadan Saadi, Director of the Career Development Center, stated that the center has provided over 1,500 job and training opportunities in various sectors and has worked to graduate highly skilled individuals. Since its opening on January 16, 2020, the center has facilitated more than 30,000 high-quality training and professional development opportunities and signed seven cooperation agreements with major companies and institutions operating in Aswan.
