Aswan University President Participates in a Meeting between Civil Society and the Government Sector

Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, participated in a coordination meeting between civil society and government sector leaders in Aswan Governorate. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport branch in Aswan. This event was sponsored by the Civil Society Support Program, funded by the European Union, and in collaboration with the Aswan Governorate and the Umm Habiba Foundation. The meeting was attended by Dr. Amr Lashin, Deputy Governor of Aswan, representing Major General Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, Dr. Hanan El-Gendy, Director of the Umm Habiba Foundation, Dr. Yasser Deheb, in addition to several representatives from civil society.

In his speech, Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, President of Aswan University, emphasized that Aswan University is always striving to play its community role, especially in the areas of community service and environmental development, through numerous activities and projects aimed at improving the local community’s conditions.

Prof. Loai clarified that the university seeks to establish partnerships with civil society institutions and international organizations, including the European Union, in order to enhance cooperation and implement development projects in various fields that serve the citizens.

Prof. Nasrat pointed out that there are ongoing cooperation efforts between Aswan University and Om Habiba Foundation in several areas, including education and scientific research, contributing to the improvement of community services and the advancement of the educational system. He also mentioned that this cooperation is not limited to executing individual projects but includes broad partnerships with a number of civil associations from various centers in the governorate, such as Aswan Center, Daraw, Kom Ombo, and Edfu. These efforts aim to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development goals by 2025 and improve environmental services.

Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat concluded his speech by stressing the importance of such coordination meetings, which contribute to strengthening cooperation between various active parties in civil society and the government sector, thus helping to achieve sustainable and inclusive development for the local community.
