The third training course event for imams and preachers at Faculty of Engineering_ Aswan University_ were launched today, entitled “Psychological and social Counseling”.
Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Aswan University President_ inaugurated the training course in attendance of Dr. Magdy Mohamed Ali_ Vice President of community service and Environment development, Dr. Loai Saad El-Deen_ Faculty of Engineering Dean, Dr. Farid Abdel-Zaher_ Course coordinator_ Dr. Mohamed Abo El-Sheikh_ Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom dean, the supervisor of organizing the training course, and Dr. Mohamed Najdi Abo Tame_ one of the lecturers of the course.
Dr. Ayman Othman_ Acting President of the University_ emphasized the importance of training in accordance with the cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Awqaf, which aims to train imams and preachers. Dr. Ayman Othman paid tribute and appreciation to Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa_ Minister of Awqaf.
The university president added that these courses aim to rehabilitate imams and develop their intellectual and cultural capabilities towards the Qur’an and Prophet’s Sunnah sciences and various current religious issues, and working on increasing awareness and education about current issues in several fields, including Arabic language sciences and its fields in psychology, communication skills and art of diction.
Dr. Magdi Mohamed Ali_ Vice President of University for Community Service and Environment Development, indicated that the aim of these courses is to work on refining the talents of imams and preachers and upgrading their behavior because they represent a role model for society and develop their abilities to face the developments of the times.
Dr. Loai Saad El-Deen, Faculty of Engineering Dean, stated that the course is held for the first time in the conference hall of Faculty of Engineering, in which precautionary measures are applied in light of confronting Corona virus, especially Faculty of Engineering, that its location near to the parking lot, to facilitate imams and preachers coming from various districts of Aswan Governorate.
