Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _ Aswan University president_ declared that in frame of the efforts made by the Egyptian state in light of the war in the brotherly Republic of Sudan, in light of the directives of the political leadership, to provide the medical and food support and good reception in Aswan governorate to Sudanese brothers, Aswan University hospitals have implemented great medical and therapeutic efforts, especially the provision of free treatment to Sudanese brothers, Egyptians, and foreigners fleeing the Sudanese war coming to Aswan through the port of Qastal. Aswan University Hospitals also received a high-level delegation from the World Health Organization in appreciation of its role in light of the Sudanese crisis.
Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshoury – Dean of Faculty of Medicine in Aswan – added that the medical and Therapeutic services provided by the university hospitals come within the framework of the role of Aswan University and the Faculty of Regional and Strategic Medicine in serving the local and regional community, and participating in the state’s efforts to contain the repercussions of the Sudanese war, and help the brothers coming from Sudan. And the hospitals had received nearly 250 Sudanese patients in various medical specialties, and the Aswan University hospitals sent a medical convoy to the port of Qastal, which reached the total number of Sudanese cases that were examined about 895 cases of detection, and 74 cases of surgery and care transferred to Aswan University hospitals.
Dr. Ashraf Mebed – Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals – explained that he received the delegation of the World Health Organization in Aswan University Hospitals, Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshoury – Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of Board of Directors of University Hospitals – and Dr. Ashraf Mebed and Dr. Mohamed Mostafa – Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine_ Head of the Urology Department – The organization delegation expressed its happiness with this visit and its tour within the university hospital departments. The delegation expressed its thanks and appreciation for the medical efforts made by the university hospitals during the repercussions of the Sudanese crisis. The visit aims to provide support to Aswan University hospitals.
