Aswan University Council held its 148th session under the chairmanship of Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of the University. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehallal, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, deans of the faculties, university advisors, the Secretary-General of the University, and members of the council.
At the beginning of the session, Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat welcomed the council members and a minute of silence was held in honor of the souls of the martyrs of knowledge, the students of Galala University who tragically lost their lives in the bus accident. The council members expressed their heartfelt wishes for a swift recovery for the injured and praying to Allah to have mercy on the deceased and to rest in His eternal paradise, while also offering condolences to their families and loved ones.
Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, stated that the council discussed several topics aimed at improving the educational system within the university, including the regularity of studies during the first semester of the academic year 2024/2025.
He added that the council also reviewed the continuation of activities under the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Development,” which is being implemented through student activities, sports events, cultural, artistic, and scientific activities that contribute to developing the creative skills of students and fostering entrepreneurship.
The council also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the university and various educational institutions, through signing cooperation protocols to serve the educational system.
At the conclusion of the session, the council approved a number of promotions for Academic staff and their assistants, as well as granting postgraduate students (Master’s and PhD) their research degrees.
