Aswan University Hospital performed 44,856 various surgical operations in various specialties from July 2021 to June 2022, in frame of serving patients of Aswan and the southern Upper Egypt governorates.
Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Aswan University President_ confirmed that the university hospital performed 44,856 various surgical operations in the different departments of the hospital, according to the statistics of Technology and Information Center for the number of cases that entered the university hospital during this period in the various departments of the hospital, which are 36 therapeutic departments.
His Excellency pointed out that this comes in frame of the therapeutic and health system carried out by Aswan University Hospitals to serve the patients and people of Aswan and the patients of the southern Upper Egypt governorates, which is witnessing a remarkable development by working to increase the number of beds and the quality of medical service.
Aswan University President stated that this also comes in frame of the medical efforts made by Aswan University hospitals to upgrade the health system in Aswan, and the political leadership’s concern in the health of Aswan citizen and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in university hospitals.
Dr. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury_Faculty of Medicine Dean and Chairman of Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals, added that entering the internal Medicine Hospital for medical service has given us a breakthrough in receiving a greater number of cases, and the numbers do not lie. The university hospital has achieved record numbers that may be the first in its history in terms of providing the medical service to patients in Aswan governorate and patients in southern Upper Egypt governorates.
Al-Dahshoury pointed out that the University Hospital, through the Operations Unit, performed 44,856 various surgical cases between minor and major surgeries in various departments during July 2021 until June 2022, and the number of reception cases from July to December 2021 are 141,757 cases, and from January to June 2022 about 149,088 cases, and from July 2021 to June 2022 about 290,845 cases in the reception department.
The outpatient department, from July to December 2021, the number of cases are about 43,751, and from January to June 2022, about 45,341 and from July 2021 to June 2022, about 89,092 cases. The statistics also mentioned that 10959 surgeries were performed during July to December 2021 and from January to June 2022 are 11,469 surgeries and from July 2021 to June 2022 about 22,428 surgeries, with a total of 44,856 surgeries.
Al-Dahshoury emphasized that this is one of the results of the development witnessed by university hospitals in terms of developing the departments of the university hospital, which include the best medical expertise and human cadres from doctors and consultants of various specialties in various departments of university hospital.
For his part, Dr. Ashraf Mebed_ Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, indicated that from July to December 2021, the Ultrasound department received 13143 cases, and from January to June 2022 about 13049, and from July 2021 until June 2022 about 26,192 cases, while the Radiology Department During July to December 2021 about 30027, and from January to June 2022 about 30265, and from July 2021 to June 2022 about 60,292 cases. The CT scan department during July to December 2021 about 12284, and from January to June 2022 about 16644, and from July 2021 to June 2022 about 28,928 cases, while the magnetic resonance department from July to December 2021 about 1397 cases, and from January to June 2022 about 2495, and from July 2021 to June 2022 about 3892 cases, so the total cases of radiology from July to December 2021 about 56851, and from January to June 2022 approximately 62453, and from July 2021 to June 2022, the total is 119,304 cases of radiology, and this comes in frame of the medical service provided by the University Hospital to patients in Aswan Governorate and Southern Upper Egypt governorates.
