Aswan University organizes an awareness Symposium for students entitled “Tolerance of Islam and Accepting the Other”

       Today, Under the auspices of Prof.  Ayman Mahmoud Othman, and the supervision of Dr. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat – Vice President for Education and Student Affairs – Aswan University organized an awareness and educational symposium, which was hosted by Faculty of Education entitled “Tolerance of Islam and Accepting the Other”.

       And in the attendance of Prof. Rady Abdel-Magid – Dean of Faculty of Education – and Prof. Ahmed Kamel El-Rashidi – Former Dean of Faculty of Education_ Aswan University – and His Eminence Dr. Mortaji Abdel- Raouf Shaban – Director General of the Preaching Area and Chairman of the Fatwa Committee in Aswan – and a number of scholars of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Dr. Manal Khodry – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environment Development Affairs – and Faculty students.

       Dr. Loai Saad El-Deen confirmed that this symposium is one of the symposiums organized by the Education and Student Affairs Sector in cooperation with the Central Youth Welfare Department at the university, which aims to develop awareness and knowledge among university students and to work to enhance belonging and loyalty to the homeland and reject bullying and distinction and work to accept the other.

        Dr. Mortaji Abdel- Raouf also gave a lecture on the virtue of tolerance and forgiveness in all divine religions, and forgiveness, tolerance, and accepting the other are the approaches of all prophets, and that the word forgiveness appeared in the Holy Qur’an 35 times, and this is evidence of the greatness of the attribute of forgiveness, which is a precursor to tolerance, serenity of souls, and acceptance of the other.

       During his speech, Prof. Ahmed Kamel Al-Rashidi dealt with the importance of love between others and that it is part of complete faith in the words of the Messenger of Allah, May Blessings and peace be upon him: “None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” He also stated the aspect of tolerance in the life of the Prophet Mohamed, may blessings and peace be upon him, after the injustice of his people, expelled him from Makkah, and it is the most beloved country to his heart and his forgiveness to them. The symposium concluded with a discussion and dialogue to answer the students’ questions and maximize the value of tolerance in the hearts of the students and spread it among all and accept the other.
