Aswan University organizes an extensive introductory seminar in collaboration with a delegation from the European Union, headed by Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst. The event was attended by Eng. Amr Lashin, Deputy Governor of Aswan, Dr. Eman Nofal from the National Water Research Center, along with a distinguished group of Academic staff, researchers, and students.
Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, explained that the seminar comes at a critical time to highlight the importance of the Nile River as a primary source of life and development. He emphasized that the university plays a pivotal role in supporting water-related issues through scientific research and international partnerships, affirming that “water is not just a resource, but the cornerstone of all sustainable development.”
Eng. Amr Lashin noted that Aswan and the university are working in full harmony to qualify young talents and address environmental challenges. He stressed that cooperation with the European Union opens up broad prospects for training and joint research.
In her speech, Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome in Aswan, reaffirming the European Union’s commitment to supporting youth potential and research initiatives in the fields of water and the environment. She stated, “This seminar marks the beginning of a sustainable scientific cooperation between the European Union and Aswan University.”
The event concluded with an open dialogue session that witnessed significant engagement from attendees, where participants discussed ideas and initiatives to promote water resource conservation and explored opportunities for cooperation in agriculture and sustainable development.
