Community participations with Aswan Governorate
Aswan University is a scientific and societal edifice that contributed to providing university, academic and research education for the people of this ancient governorate and the neighboring governorates.
Aswan Governorate also affirmed its continuous support and constructive partnership with Aswan University in order to achieve sustainable development, as it is a beacon of science and knowledge, a Centre of Excellence and as a trusted consultant in various sectors of work.

Major General /Ashraf Attia, Aswan Governor, chaired the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Initiative for the Evaluation of Smart Green Governorates, in attendance of Dr. Ghada Abo Zaid, Deputy Governor, Dr. Mohamed Abdel- Aziz Mehalel, Vice President of Aswan University for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Fattah, representative of the Ministry of Planning, next to Nahid Fouad, representative of the Ministry of Communications, in addition to members of the committee from the competent authorities.

At the end of the events of the Upper Egypt Open Water Swimming Championships, which Major General/ Ashraf Attia, Aswan Governor, gave the start signal of it yesterday, Wednesday morning, at the tourist walkway in the Aswan Algadeda Corniche, after a 40-year hiatus since the last swimming championship in the Nile, in implementation of the initiative of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, “Sports is a national security.”

In frame of the initiative of Republic President / Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi “Haya karima” to develop the villages of Egypt and raise the efficiency of the possibilities available to the residents of the villages and maximize the benefit from it in order to bring benefit to the population and improve living, and within the framework of the role of Aswan University and Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources in community service and environment development; A working group was formed by Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_Aswan University Presiden_ to carry out studies on the characteristics of each village for Haya karima, whether it is a craft or food security products, in coordination with the branch of the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprise Development authority in Aswan Governorate.

The “Decent Life” initiative endorsed by H.E President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, with the main objective of improving the quality of life in the poorest rural communities within the framework of the Sustainable Development Strategy: Egypt Vision 2030, through decreasing multidimensional poverty and unemployment rates. This is within a framework of integration and joining forces among the state institutions, private sector entities, civil society and development partners in Egypt. It is a huge shared responsibility among these different parties to provide a decent life to Egyptian citizens, especially vulnerable groups.
