Aswan University Hospital is the only hospital that receives patients from all parts of the governorate as well as the neighboring governorates. After being a university hospital, the clinical departments increased from 8 to 24 in all the medical specialties. Now, instead of referring patients to Assiut or Cairo, treatment became available in Aswan.
Aswan University Hospital has the following departments:
General Surgery | Surgical Oncology | Oral and maxillofacial surgery |
Pediatric surgery | Vascular Surgery | Neurosurgery |
Plastic surgery | Orthopedics | Urology and Nephrology |
Ophthalmology | Oncology and Nuclear Medicine | Diagnostic Radiology |
Dermatology and Venereology | Obstetrics | Cardiovascular Medicine |
Cardio-Thoracic Surgery | Ear, Nose, and Throat | Speech therapy |
Audiology | Internal-Medicine | Neurology and Psychiatry |
Tropical Medicine and Gastro | Pediatrics | Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine |
Clinical Pathology | Anesthesiology and Intensive Care | Chest Diseases |
Efforts are still being exerted to complete the development of the sections that have not been developed yet (reception – emergency – orthopedic). The hospital also has a vital role in organizing the medical convoys to all parts of Aswan and the neighboring cities.
